Fluid ~ Layered ~ Abstraction
The Charleston Institute of Fine Arts will feature a variety of art. Students will be primarily focusing on drawing, painting, and sculpture, but can work with 3D and visual arts as well. The design focuses on a central core. This core is not only the central circulation, but part of the journey. The front space will hold the galleries and be open to the street to encourage connection to Marian Square. The back wing will hold the school/education sector of the institute. The concept creates a horizontal visual pull into the center core stair which extends out onto each floor.
